| SUSTAINIBILITY AT PHILCOS

We recognize all businesses large, and small must do their part in ensuring the sustainability of our business practices as we move deeper into the 21st Century. It is not just the responsibility of the automotive sector, it is the responsibility of all of us. Accordingly, we here at Philcos are taking numerous measures to reduce our environmental footprint. Specifically:

We have introduced recycled fabric product lines, ensuring less landfill waste, and less transportation of that waste. We are encouraging more and more retailers to try environmental fabrics, breaking down the barriers to more widespread adoption.

Our dye houses filter and re-use 100% of the water used for dyeing fabrics, ensuring less waste water enters local rivers and streams, and also greatly reducing water consumption.

| CHARITY

We believe there's much more to life than work and dollars. Money is nice, but there's much more to life than money. Family, community, and empathy are key drivers of happiness and of a well rounded person. People need an understanding that s/he is a part of a something larger. We believe it is of critical importance to recognize our fortune, and to assist the less fortunate. It is important to assist those in need in your local community, and it is equally important to assist those from areas of the world who face more challenging circumstances and much more limited opportunities. With this in mind, we support both local and international charities.

Vita Centre

The Vita Centre  is a local Mississauga, Ontario based charity supporting single parents, primarily through donations of baby/child items to families in need. Every Christmas we prepare ~250 gift baskets, containing toys, books, and school supplies, enough for each child in their care. Most recently we donated gift baskets with personal care items for the mothers.

Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) of Toronto

Every year we create and donate 100 loot bags containing candy and toys for disbursement to their patients at Halloween.

We participate in the yearly Toronto area Toy Mountain toy drive by soliciting toys from our staff and friends. As a company we match all employee donations on a 1-1 basis.

| International Initiatives

Philcos in MEXICO

In December, Philcos proudly spearheaded a heartfelt donation initiative aimed at supporting families in Mexico, further embodying our commitment to giving back to the communities where we produce our merchandise. Through this initiative, we extended a helping hand to those in need, fostering hope and spreading joy during the holiday season. With every contribution, we aimed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families, embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity. Together, with the support of our dedicated community and partners, we were able to create a positive impact, enriching the lives of those we serve. This initiative serves as a testament to our values and dedication to fostering positive change, one act of kindness at a time.

Tirupur School for the Deaf

The south Indian state of Tirupur is one of the most impoverished in India. The Tirupur School for the Deaf is a small orphanage housing, feeding and educating deaf or blind orphans. In conjunction with one of our partner vendors in India, we cover their operating costs.

Shantam Covid Centre

Covid hit India very hard, extending their health care system beyond its capabilities. In conjunction with a partner vendor we set up a pop-up treatment and vaccination clinic in Gujarat State, in the west of India. For this clinic we provided funding for vaccinations, and we purchased 4 oxygen ventilators for critically ill patients .

Isha Vidhya

Isha Vidhya is a charitable organization in Tirupur State, India, providing many different services to their community. We support two of their initiatives: rural children's education, and job placement and economic support for widows.
